Hello,
It seems that I made a mistake in my DS-160 and my H1B got stamped with an error in my middle name. I repeated my lastname as my middle name so my full name appears as: 1stName 1stLASTNAME 1stLASTNAME 2ndLastname
I have a Tourist Visa also stamped wich is OK. Also the data on my passport.
My I797 is OK and everything else is OK.
I am still in my home country. Should I be worried about it? Should I try change it here or in the US?
In any event, what's the correct procedure to change it?

I am trying to get an infopass to check my I-485 status
1. After selecting "you need information or other services" in the infopass process, The infopass is not showing me any appointment dates, instead it is showing "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."
I have done infopass before 6 months ago, and it showed me the date to select but now it is now doing that. just the message "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."
Does anyone faced the same issue and help me to get an infopass!

We should think of starting this thread to organize bus rides from Texas. If we use U.S. Coachways, which is in most major cities, we could potentially have buses leave from the major metros (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin) or two or more buses leaving Houston and San Antonio in the south and picking up more people as they make their way north to Dallas and Austin. Beyond Texas, the buses could also pick people up in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, etc, or other states depending on the routes. Also, a great and reliable local Dallas bus company is "Buses by Bill"

I was just wondering why legal immigration is not generating any interest with the beloved politicians in this country. Inside the mind of these politicians... I guess their agenda is very clear.
Immigration support for illegals = hispanic votes = reelection!

Does anyone understand what they mean by "Applicants entitled to immigrant status become documentarily qualified at their own initiative and convenience."
Does it mean that ppl file I485 at their own initiative (but thats not true since we cant file it until numbers are available), or does it mean that we should call USCIS and pester them and ask them "Is my application documentarily qualified ?"
Is that the same state as "preadjudicated" ?
Isnt it weird that AOS is the last group of people who get assigned numbers ? "CIS requests visa allotments for adjustment of status cases only when all other case processing has been completed."

Hello Friends,
Now the Fence bill has come and gone, none of our amendments are included in, all by now may have realized we need to keep it up for few more months before we see something happen.
And all those waiting for something to happen may also have realized that they need to contribute $, and I believe they did. (I did.)
I sincerely believe that IV members need also have to do one more SIMPLE ACT. Please spread the word about IV.
I have seen N number of times IV core members & many others, requesting to post the banner of IV in the grocery store you visit to help admit more members.
If you have not done it, please do so. I did it.
Simple things like this will help IV membership grow bigger and better chances of getting something done.

I see the following address in the I-485 form. But it is a PO Box address.

It depends on which state you are in and where your labor was filed. No matter where you send your application there is a possibility that they can transfer it to another center. I sent mine to NSC and it was transfered to Texas.

I had a robbery case in the U.S. in 1995 and was sentenced to 9 years with 85%. Later, I was picked up by immigration and deported for the case in question. While I was in immigration jail I fought my case and won it but immigration appealed it on the first court. I decided to return voluntarily to my country instead of fighting my case over. I applied to VSC on Sept 17,2008 and still waiting. USCIS website as of Aug 31,2008 saying processing application as @ Jan 15,2008. Does not know how long the wait can be.

We have filed an I-130 for our dependant child of my husband who is currently an alien resident. We are trying to figure out how to get a work authorization form started for our son as well as he is old enough to work. We can not figure out how to answer his eligibility catagory. Can anyone assist us??
