My brothers in blood, please calm down… Mahatma Gandhi had his own way of fighting for freedom and so did Subhash Chandra Bose. They must have agreed and disagreed with each other on many things. But at the end of day, their motive was the same “Justice and Freedom”.
We might have our differences, our opinions and ways of doing things, but we need to understand that our motive is the same. We should stop bickering with each other and concentrate on the main goal. We should keep encouraging our members to join hands and unite and fight for the cause.
Though you might not agree with each other, you still need to see how severely the issue must have affected the other person which is why they are here and ready to fight.
Please pull your (s)words to fight the injustice rather than fight with each other.

On you are so wrong. PD porting is legal, and there is nothing unethical about it. The only thing we need to put a cork on is to your brain, which, along with the surrounding matter, currently is in the part which expels bodily waste.
If Substution labor was ethical, PD porting from EB3 to EB2 is ethical.
Ithink PD Porting might be legal at this time but not ETHICAL.

Still USA is going to e attractive destination unless currency goes less than 30 rupees. Still USA is Top in innovations in medical, Biomedical and core products like Apple, Microsoft etc. India and China are going to to do service oriented jobs and hardly any big innovations. That is going to continue for next few years. Also survival is easy here compared to India as population is 4 times than USA and country is 1/4 of USA. It is a mere speculation and our wish that US citizens will wait in line for Indian visa. But it is a fact that we do not need to come to USA just for money as we can get excellent pay package in many industries in India and quality of life improved a lot on par with USA. Still population growth with less land will make lack of facilities for many people in future decades. Mainly water, food,land and energy shortage will be a problem in next decades and we need to wait and see how our government handles that.
May be our kids in future will have to wait inline for Indian Residency:p

You will see two options
1)Pay a company
2) Pay an Individual
Click the GO button next to Pay an Individual (without entering any information)
In the next page
You will see a small form
Payee- is the name- in whose favor the check will be made

Durbin also got one "favorable" amm. for us - another $1500 for each recaptured visa number. I believe after all expenses, and all time spended on the immigration and exams, majority of us could deal with that extra cost, or "bonus" if you like::))) So I hope that Durbin's amm. will calm down anti-immigrant forses and Cornin'n one will pass!

Instead of telling them what they will lose, lets tell them what they gained from us and what they would not have if it were not for the immigrants.

I do not believe the 800,000 figure for I-485 alone. It could be a misquote from Aytes. The 800,000 is possibly combination of all immigration related applications such as I-140, 485, 131, 765, etc.
Even during last year when EBs are current, it didn't reach that many applications. I believe Matthew OH is more accurate in saying there's a total of 320,000 I-485 applications.
With that figure, average 2.5 years waiting is in order. But that should not be distributed equally among all countries due to per country limit. I would guess, for India and China, it would be 3 years wait, and for the rest, 2 years.

Yesterday I filled up the appointment form of my local congressman. I will try if I can meet him and he could probably write to the public officials or could talk to rep. Zo Lofgren. In my opinion if we can somehow inform Rep. Lofgren, she will certainly do something. She seems really(genuinely) concerned for the plight of Green Card seekers...
I would request everybody to find out ways and channels to get this information to her....

I suppose we should followup with phone calls in 15 days to cement our request. We should have a poll on who all has sent the letter and made the call.

It would have been amazing if senator added 10K for each recaptured EB VISA. That would have given 1B dollars for the border security(If only senator wanted to help the so called product developing H1Bs).

What is this Receipt date? Is it the date when your AOS petition reaches USCIS?
Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.
