My piece of advice -
I see that a lot of people are not happy about L1 visa holders replacing them or their collegues because the sponsering company is either not following the law or found a loophole.
It is natural to get angry and frustrated. But I would suggest - not to be insensitive to those people as it is not their fault. Treat them well and good and help them understand what it is and why are you concerned.
Do a proper assessemt on what exactly the issue is and definitely help ourselves to make sure fraud is not being committed.

It could also be that they are confusing your EAD with EADs used mostly by students on OPT which leads to H1B to Greencard sponsorship.

my 485 was filed during Aug 2007 , i had EAD as well that i never used.(EB3)
i joined another firm and started off fresh using old PD, and EB2, which got ported
I had 2 RFE on my prior 485 FOR medicals and EVL. that i answered ( company didnt had issues as long as i was paying for it)
now How do i get my prior 485 to be merged, since its not an easy case, my new firm isnt willing to do so, can i raise SR/IO and try it? is it worth it

Everyone knows that increasing green card numbers will be best solution. In that also if we ask too much we may not get anything. Double the number of annual Gc plus exclude dependents will be enough for reducing retrogession but that may not eliminate. But waiting period of 2 to 3 years can be reasonable for most people. I am sure one more chance will come for increasing H1b numbers. That time we can try for GC increase also.
But I am supporting the flower Campaign for protesting the VB mess up though it will not solve the problem

I agree totally, this is a catch 22 situation for employment based immigration and agree that this will only divide more of us who are in different situations and are all waiting in line. I am not on L1 but to have introduce a bill that is protective in nature will only hurt immigration even more in the long run. Some of us may think this will eliminate lot more people from the line so that we who are working as permanent employees can get our green cards faster. Consulting companies are not just small companies, KPMG, Microsoft, Delliote, Oracle all of they offer some form of consulting to their clients. How will this law be implemented, what will happen to us who plan to change jobs after getting green cards and plan to consult if these companies don't exist. Every time a bill gets introduced, there is an intent but there is also the question of how it gets applied.
I think this will only hurt us as written from reading everything, this has all the language on discrimination against otherwise eligible workers, remember someday all of us who are permanent employees may be working as consultants, if you think today this is applied only to H1/L1, what will stop them from applying against EAD holders too? After all how many of us are on EAD, 300K? do you think that is a big enough group.
Stay together, stand together and read between the lines. Always fight for open legal immigration for employment, if you feel somebody is not qualified, so be it, its for the employer to make that call if he or she is qualified or not. If the client or the employer does not feel they are getting their money;s worth, that is a business decision for them to make, how do we who are standing in line for our green cards make a call on who is or not qualified?

Let it be 5000 min/pm. Still, 5000 min/month give about 2.7 hours per day. Talking 2.7 hours to India per 24 hours is unusual for many. I don't even get 30 minutes to talk. Even if we want to talk 2.7 hours you will be distrbing people in India, as they may be watching cricket or Tv serials.:)
Any way, this pan is simply superb compare to the situation before 10 years. Compare to many phone providers/cable compaines, vonage customer service is simply great, at least in my experience.
Ok...the way I see this is 5000min/month at $25 (not adding taxes) is 5 cents a minutes...that is more than what I pay for my calling cards....bottom line....if your monthly calling bill is less than $ 25 there is no reason why you should get Vonage.

I havent taken my appointment yet so dont know if that would be the case even for Delhi. But in Mumbai..r they asking to fax the documents (like I-129, I 797A, LCA etc) to them prior to the interview?
in mumbai, someone has to go personally to VFS center to submit documents... we need to submit passport copy, copy of I-797, appointment letter, etc.. but we don't need to submit I-129 and LCA. we need to carry that when we go for appointment.

And to make matters worse, this jerk married a Mexican woman. He is alway behind Mexico and Mexicans for some reason. Imagine that, he lives in NJ, has a several acre house, makes 7/8 figure salary and then teaches American middle class a lesson to avoid goods produced in China/Mexico/India. Avoid them because they add up to trade deficit of USA, avoid them because those countries have stolen jobs from middle class Americans. Why doesn't Lou Dobbs stop using software written by some Indian/Chinesse guy? Why doesn't he stop eating at a place where in the kitchen a Mexican guy is making his meal? why doesn't he stop using Japnesse cars? Why doesn't he quit eating Pizza....afterall it is Italian food? Why doesn't he stop driving on interstate highways...part of those were made by African Americans. I am asking Lou Dobbs to show me his grand father's VISA/I-94 when he came to the USA, on a ship, half starved, half naked from some european country and never went back! This guy blames mexicans/legal or immigrations for this country's broken health care system. Other day, he was concerned that in California, especially L.A. and surrounding area, white people's percentage has gone below 50%, Mexicans and Indians are having too many kids, whites are not having enough kids.........this is by far the most racist program CNN runs and we need to do something to put a stop on it.
