Sent an email to PBEC a month ago asking about my case status. Got their response today. They assigned me a case number, which seems to be generated on the 157th day of 2005 (P-05157-54869 ). However, my lawyer hasn't received any 45-day letter. Can this be possible?
My PD is April 2004. Filed from Delaware. Anybody knows a similar case?

kalinga_sena case seems to be the worst.
Besides kalinga_sena and me, looks like gclabor07 and mgmanoj have also been in the US 10+ years and still don't have an EAD. That will be an interesting poll too: 10+ years in the US and still no EAD.

I can understand rejecting loans for H1 since it is supposed to be temporary employment, but it does not make sense to reject for people on EAD.
I am in the process of refinancing, but I provided my H1 papers instead of EAD and my application was approved.
It is possible each company has a different policy. I went through Wells Fargo this time.

process, thanks to Cohen & Grisby PERM presentation at the recent AILA conference.

Ths USCIS site says the following ....
"....The current fee schedule will apply to all applications filed under Visa Bulletin No. 107 through August 17, 2007. (The new fee schedule that becomes effective on July 30, 2007, will apply to all other applications filed on or after July 30, 2007)."
Does that mean if I file 485 on Aug1st I have to pay new fees?

My DL expring in Sept. filed for 10th year extenison, I live in NY.
NY DL have 2 dates, One in Top with RED Bold letters its called Temp Visa Date and at botton DL exprie date. I have contacted in DMV office. They said I can drive using bottom Exprie date which is exprie in 2010(mine) ,But I cant use the DL as ID if Temp VISA expire on DL.Unless I renew it with approved H1B visa date.So I have to Carry Passport ,recepit copy and Employer lettter with all time just as proof if cop caught me.

What the you talking about? USCIS isn't efficient at processing? Are you crazy?
There are a whole bunch of people on the ROW thread thread who think they are the picture of efficiency - they deny the existence of wasted visas due to inefficiencies in processing.

Most media articles on the 485 issue had one common note "This normally not so vocal group of legal working immigrants have stood up and spoke". IV made sure that will not be so anymore and we have a strong resonating voice that will make a difference

Will this economy slow down and people returing back to there motherland have any effects on PD?
How many of the returning people would call USCIS to cancel their 485s? I see almost zero.

why do we have to get names from people...
simply decide a course of action... like send out letters or the big-as calculator brother singhsa3 suggested and let them ship it out individually
Most people here just want to discuss but when it comes to action - you will notice that they would not even give out their proper name to IV while registering - so mobilizing is not as easy as discussing it here.
Discussion forums are good because ideas emerge here - ideas are needed for execution and discussing pressing issues must lead us towards a path to execution.
The question is - can all those who do that talk actually walk the talk?

Yes, They always do that. I did fill that form for my Senator and congressman when they did inquiry for my application in the backlog center.
I sent faxes to my senators and congressman on 2nd july. But haven't heard back from them. When they'll reply they will send me the same form.
I wrote letters to Cornyn and Hutcison about the situation. They have asked me to fill the privacy form authorizing the senator to access my data. Did anyone do this?

Hi guys,
In my college days, I was returning to Varanasi(ITBHU) after spending Holi at my Aunts place in Delhi. It was warm, so I tried with all my might to open the stuck glass window next to me. I tried and tried, gave up... only to try again, to open the damned window. Finally, with help from my neighbours I was able to get the window open. Nice cool air came in. Everything was perfect. Then suddenly it happened. The train was entering Ghaziabad, there were these slumdogs aiming cow dung at the train. Needless to say, I got hit and totally covered with shit literally. :eek:
Here I am again trying hard to open the window of opportunity... GC, for the fresh air of freedom to enter my life.
Is all this delay a blessing in disguise? Food 4 thought.
