Recently I have travelled to USA on B1, during port of entry at chicago the immigration officer as marked Advised on the stamp with pen. What does it mean? Does this will have any impact on my next visit to USA on B1.
In port of entry letter I have mentioned stay duration as 4 weeks (1 month). Is this the problem? If so why officer given i-94 till 3 months?

Your H1b will be cancelled without prejudice. You can have only 1 typeof visa stamped on your passport

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

Comp A (A Consulting Firm)applied for H1-B in April 2009 thru consular Processing and got approved. I worked for Client X in the month of April but lost my job in a week itself.(thus I dont have any pay Stubs from Comp A)Since Comp A was not able to find me a job. I found A full time job in Comp B in June 2009 , I somehow convinced Comp B to hire me as a contractor as I already have my H1-B approved thru Comp A. Thus from july 2010 I started working for Comp A again as my employer and Comp B as its Client. I am planning to go for VISA stamping in Dec 2010. My Question is
1) If they Ask for my Tax Returns and W2 for 2009 what should I answer as I just have my W2 frm Comp B
2) would there be a question of something like why havent I've been working for Comp A Since my H1 approval.
Please advice. I appreciate any kind of answer

Hi All ,
First of all , thanks soooo much for this great site. I have a small question. My PD is July 2002 under EB2 / India. I was stuck with name check. Now that name check does not matter because of new rule > 180 days and my PD becomes current from today - April 1 , how long does USCIS take to make a decision about my case ? Do I need to call them and request a case review or do something to see some movement ? Kindly advice. Or is it just wait ?

I think answer is NO if you want to come back of L1A from B employer.
To be eligible for L1A, You need to be on outside USA payroll from B employer for atleast 1 year (from past 3 years).
With H1B, you will be on USA's payroll for that period.

I am on an H1B visa. I have passed PERM and my priority date is Sep 2005. Then I applied to 140 and in the middle of 140 (it was last year in Aug), I changed my company. My new employer hired me for the same position and renewed my H1B for the same position. After a few months 140 was approved but it is from my old company.
Now, can I still apply to 485 even though I don't work for my previous company? In what circumstances, could this be worked out? what do I need to do?
HAS ANYBODY EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE?

My Husband's I 140 got approved and his lawyer included my name as well in the I 140 application.
